#6010-882 In Stock

Inspired by our bountiful state that spans from Murphy to Manteo, this pottery ornament is adorned with both mountains and coastal waves. Each handcrafted ornament hangs from a 3" black ribbon for easy display from either a Christmas tree or on an ornament stand all year long. Potter Lauren Sumner makes each ornament by hand from porcelain clay, which she then rolls into a slab, cuts, carves, fires, and paints.

Made in North Carolina.

Meet_Maker

Lauren Sumner has been an artist all of her life. After receiving her BA in art and journalism from UNC-Chapel Hill, she rediscovered her love of pottery while taking classes at a local studio. She began selling her pottery and was soon able to produce her work full-time. Lauren uses vibrant colors and clean, botanical-inspired shapes, which she hand carves and paints, and each piece is high-fired for durability. Having lived in North Carolina her entire life, Lauren finds inspiration in both the mountains and the coast. She lives and works out of Raleigh, North Carolina.
