Meet_Maker
Salt of the Earth Pottery is a husband and wife team based outside of Oriental. What started as a longtime hobby making beautiful, botanically-inspired pottery, grew into a full-time business in 2019. Justin manages the logistics, while Jen is the artist. Jen uses both a potters wheel and a slab roller to create symmetrical mugs and plates, as well as carefully hand-built pieces. North Carolina inspires them with its natural bounty of ferns, shells, and beautiful natural forms. They enjoy exploring and enjoying their vast “backyard” on the Bay River with their two boys.
