Lauren Sumner has been an artist all of her life. After receiving her BA in art and journalism from UNC-Chapel Hill, she rediscovered her love of pottery while taking classes at a local studio. She began selling her pottery and was soon able to produce her work full-time. Lauren uses vibrant colors and clean, botanical-inspired shapes, which she hand carves and paints, and each piece is high-fired for durability. Having lived in North Carolina her entire life, Lauren finds inspiration in both the mountains and the coast. She lives and works in Raleigh, North Carolina.
