Meet_Maker
For over 30 years, Kathy Spado’s passion has been creating pottery. She took multiple ceramics courses and has worked with talented ceramic artists in North Carolina, honing her craft. She currently focuses on hand-built pieces, and then detail is added with underglaze and is highlighted with transparent glazes to emphasize the texture and design. She finds inspiration from her family’s Polish & Ukrainian heritage, and her experiences in NC, like camping trips to the mountains, coastal sojourns, and gardening in the Southern warmth. Kathy works from her home studio in Charlotte, North Carolina.
